ABOUT ME
I am Sydney Clark, a multimedia producer at the National Press Foundation. I have a bachelor's in Communication Arts with a concentration in journalism and a master's in Multiplatform Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park.
My father is a playwright, PR professional, author and former radio talk show host. I truly believe that my love for the communications/journalism industry evolved from him. My passion for writing and storytelling sparked in the third grade when I created a fake TV show called "Beyoncé Knowles News." Since then, I knew that I wanted to pursue broadcast journalism. In undergrad, however, I challenged myself to dive deeper and expand my skills by learning graphic design, audio, photography and videography. I also discovered my passion for social justice. I have participated in several international service immersion trips, attended the 2018 and 2019 Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice in Washington, D.C., and produced multimedia content that is social justice-oriented.
My ultimate career goal is to be an international or multimedia content creator with the nonprofit of my dreams. I want to engage with people from different cultures around the world and inform audiences about their experiences, especially within Spanish-speaking countries. I fell in love with Spanish when I was a sophomore in high school, and my Spanish teacher noticed that I desired to learn the language. I even ended up minoring in Spanish during undergrad. It is vital for me to know another language because it provides an alternate way to communicate with others, and essentially, build personal relationships with those near and far.
The work samples you'll find on this website range from undergrad to current. The purposes are to display my overall experience and my growth. If there's something that connects with you on this portfolio or captures your interest, please feel free to contact me via email: [email protected].
